About the Recipe

Podcast Guest Brittany Sloan shares her family's favorite chili recipe. I can't wait to try this Southern South Carolina version!

Ingredients

  • 1 tsp minced garlic

  • 1 tbsp minced onion

  • 1 can crushed tomatoes

  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce

  • 2 tbsp chili powder

  • 2 tbsp chocolate chips

  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon

  • 1 tbsp salt

  • 1 1/2 tbsp red wine vinegar

  • 1 tsp cumin

  • 2 lb ground hamburger meat

  • 1 can kidney beans

  • 1 can pinto beans

  • 1 can water

Preparation

Step 1: Brown hamburger meat. Add in garlic and onion. Cook for another 1-2 minutes.

Step 2: In a large pot combine meat and all ingredient except beans. Bring to a boil, reduce heat to a simmer until desired thickness, normally 45 minutes to an hour.

Step 3: Drain beans and add to the pot and simmer for 30ish more minutes. Serve with cornbread (Brittany Sloan's fav), Fritos, or however you best like your chili!
