Podcast Guest and New Orleans native Jeanine Williams shares her favorite family recipe!

Ingredients

  • 24-30 oysters (on a half shell or fresh shucked oysters)

  • 8 tablespoons of melted unsalted butter

  • 1 ½ tablespoons of Tabasco hot sauce

  • 1 ½ tablespoons of Worcestershire sauce

  • 2 tablespoons of chopped garlic

  • Juice from 1 lemon

  • 1 tablespoon of chopped parsley

  • Salt/ creole seasoning to taste

  • Shredded Parmesan or Pecorino Romano cheese for topping

Preparation

Step 1:

Preheat grill to 450 degrees

Use oyster shells as a vessel or a metal non-stick cupcake pan. If using the cupcake pan, place 1 or 2 oysters in each cup.

Step 2:

Add butter, garlic, Tabasco, Worcestershire, lemon, parsley, and creole seasoning to a bowl and mix well. Carefully place each oyster shell or the whole pan of oysters onto the grill.(Yes, I put the whole cupcake pan on our grill.)

Step 3:

Spoon butter mixture on top of each oyster until the shell or tin is full.

Close lid and allow to cook 5 minutes. Sprinkle cheese onto all the oysters

Step 4:

Allow to melt on grill with lid open for about 1 minute. Remove from grill and ENJOY!
