Ingredients
Dough:
Wet Mixture
1 cup warm milk
2 1/2 TBS dry active yeast
1TBS sugar
Dry Ingredients
4 1/2 cups bread flour
1/2 stick softened butter
1/3 cup sugar
1 tsp salt
2 eggs
Filling:
1 1/2 cups brown sugar
2 sticks softened butter
3 TBS cinnamon
Browned Butter Cream Cheese Icing:
2 sticks butter (browned, chilled)
1 8oz pack cream cheese, softened
2 1/2 cups powdered sugar
1 tsp vanilla
1 tsp salt (optional)
Preparation
Step 1:
Warm milk in microwave safe dish. Add yeast and stir. Allow mixture to sit for 5 minutes. Once frothy add sugar and all dry ingredients mix until dough is formed.
Step 2:
Knead dough on floured surface until Play-Doh consistency is obtained. Form a ball.
Step 3:
Oil bowl and place ball of dough inside. Add oil to the top. Cover with a towel. Place in microwave and allow to rise for 1 hour.
Step 4:
Roll out dough on floured surface. Add filling mixture. Roll tightly
Step 5:
Cut into desired size rolls. Add to buttered pan. Cover and allow to rise for 20 minutes. Preheat oven to 350. Bake for 20 minutes.
Step 6:
Heat butter in a stainless steel skillet or small saucepan over medium-low heat until melted, about 2 minutes. Continue cooking, swirling pan constantly until butter is dark golden brown and has nutty aroma, 2 to 5 minutes. Turn off heat. Allow to cool completely. Combine all other icing ingredients in a separate bowl. Then add butter to that bowl and whip it until desired consistently. Allow rolls to cool a little bit and then frost rolls.
