About the Recipe
This will take you back to Sunday at noon family lunches!

Ingredients
5 lbs of Chuck Roast or English Roast
2 McCormick Au Jus Gravy packets
2 Ranch Seasoning packets
5 small cloves of garlic
12 small red potatoes
Bag of carrots (or whole carrots)
1 1/2 yellow onions
1 1/2 sticks of butter
Preparation
Step 1:
Put water in the bottom of your slow cooker, just enough to cover the bottom of the dish. Dot the bottom of the pan with 1/2 stick of butter. Slice the onion and chop the garlic. Place half of that and place into bottom of the pan. My mother (Kay Jolley) recommends grating and chopping whole carrots. She also peels her potatoes.
Step 2:
In a separate bowl, mix the packets together. Use about 75% of the packet mixture and spread directly on the meat on both sides. Place roast in dish. Place potatoes and carrots around the meat as well as the remainder of the onion and garlic. Dot the meat with 1/2 stick of butter. Sprinkle the remaining packet mixture on vegetables and dot with the other 1/2 stick of butter.
Step 3:
Cook in slow cooker on high for 4-6 hours or low 8-10 hours.
